She. Is. GONE!

When Rhayn was little, she loved all things princess, Disney Princess. So one day I was bored and decided to paint Snow White on her wall. I was proud of myself, because she came out really well. Time went on, as it always does. Every time I entered Rhayn's room, Snow taunted me. I could hear her obnoxious voice singing in the vaudeville style of yesteryear. I had her covered with watercolors that Rhayn had painted at school. But she still peered from behind those papers, taunting. You see, after a time we realized that all the Disney Princess stuff just made Rhayn crazy. She was all about those princesses and nothing else. We also noticed that we didn't like watching the movies, and that she was happier when we didn't let her watch television all day, every day. We were happier, too.

Now that Rhayn has moved into her new room, that Snow White stared me down every time I walked by. I swear her eyes moved, and glared at me. Today, I took action. I combined the green I bought for Rhayn's furniture and some white that I originally bought for the clouds that I painted on the blue in Rhayn's old room. Then I set to work. She is gone. After nearly four years of her, she is painted over, and no longer stares me down.

I left about seven inches of the blue and cloud at the top of the wall. I had a hard time painting over the clouds that I spent so much time making. Plus, my initial idea for her room was to paint it green with the clouds floating only on the ceiling and about a third of the way down the wall. I was going to (in my original plan) make the green into small hills and valleys. But I like this more grown up version of the room. Especially since it will be our guest room.

I love it... I mean I absolutely love the colors together and everything.

You are so creative - I would never in my wildest dreams think of putting those colors together and yet you did and it looks so absolutely peaceful in that room. Great job and I agree with you - all this princess stuff is so overwhelming to young girls - drives me crazy.

Ooh it looks good! I like the green! You did a great job on that SnowWhite, but I can understand wanting to be free of her leer after a while!
