Whew...

I spent the weekend at my parents house. I do that a lot when Will isn't home. (Do you blame me?) The first weekend Will was gone my mom and I went to Target, I made her buy new bedding for the guest room (and new pillows, I love new pillows.) The bedding clashed so horribly with the green paint in that room, that I told them we were painting it the next weekend I came down.

We picked a lovely light brown called "Comforting" and on Saturday morning the painting began. My mom covering up the ugliest green doors ever painted in the history of paint.

My dad had prepped the room during the week, filling in holes and ripping out a set of desks that had lived in the room since before we moved in.

It took a coat of primer and then the actual color to cover the green. The doors? They took about three coats plus some touch up.
The finished walls. Soothing, calm, and comforting. Inviting if you will.

It took all day to finish a project that we figured with a few adults working on would take merely hours. Ha, we assumed, and it bit us in the butt.

That night we went to JVA's house and had dinner, and the sunset was one of those perfect desert sunsets. This sunset felt like our reward for all of the hard work we did that day.

I LOVE what a new hue can do for a room! I fresh start. A new beginning. Clean, even. And you all choose a beautiful color, might I add.

If it weren't such a labor-intensive project I'd probably repaint our house every other month! : )

Haha Mom. Well it could be worse... it could be a picture of you eating pork.

Sara- someone who doesn't know that you shouldn't paint doors (or ceilings, did I mention that was green, too?) paints them green. We have since learned our lesson.
