It is hot.Have I mentioned that recently? I would love nothing more than to leave the city for a bit and go somewhere LESS hot. A cousin of mine mentioned that for his 30th he was planning on heading out to the best place he could think of to celebrate the new decade, with the best person to celebrate with. I am so jealous of his ability to. just. go. I have never been where he said he was going. Someday... someday I will get to visit that place and that person. Her hospitality is legendary.
I would not trade my kids and Will for that freedom.
Monday we will have the first of the 30s in this house. We aren't going to be celebrating or anything exciting. Maybe I'll bake Will a giant chocolate chip cookie, because he really doesn't like cake. We planned on trying to see Harry Potter, but I am sure the theaters will be packed this weekend. Plus, I don't have a babysitter. I suppose we may be able to find someone to watch the girls so we can at least have a nice dinner out. Then hopefully NEXT weekend we can have a nice evening (when my parents can watch the girls, that is the best way, because the girls need some "pampa", and "gamma" time!)
I have a lot I want to say, but I promised the girls that I would let them get in our kiddie pool if they gave me five minutes to myself. When we go outside I will sit at our patio table and do some homework while they splash uncontrollably for probably 20 minutes. Then it will be nearly lunch time, which means ALMOST nap time! WHOO HOO! And after nap time, we are headed out to the library because they have afternoon story time. I am hoping this time that they will be better. Last time Gwennie cried the whole time, because she wanted "gup."
