We did it,we went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I have to say I was very disappointed. I don't know if it was the build up, or because it was the first movie I had been to see in almost 3 months. I just felt like it wasn't as good as it COULD have been.
It starts choppy, the story is so fast, you miss important details- well then again most of those details aren't even in the movie. I suggest reading the book before you see it, because it might help you follow the story! (Hey there are NO house elves in it either!?)
The triwizard champions were not as I pictured them, Viktor Krum was too- well handsome and his unibrow wasn't there. Fluer Delacour was not as graceful or beautiful as I had pictured, she is lovely, just not drop dead gorgeous.
Lord Voldemort was too human looking when he comes back. In the book he was more snake-like, he slithers more than walks. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be (that part.)
The director's style is a bit odd, too. I did enjoy it, because I was determined to. The only part I laughed at was Filch dancing with Mrs. Norris. I had laughed a bit more during the viewing of the other 3. Its definitely NOT a movie Rhayn needs to see, too scary.
As for Gwen, she was pretty good during the movie, she ate a lot and tried to sleep. Those lights that are on the steps leading out (for those of us who feel the need to pee during movies!) were fascinating and she couldn't look away. All in all that part wasn't bad.
After the movie, Will and I went to eat at Outback, yum! I love their steak, and bread, and they have wonderful add-on crab legs! We get one meal and it is perfect for us! (It even feeds Rhayn is she is there!)
Then we went to Target and picked up the Polar Express. Which I am trying to figure out how Santa could leave as an early present... Maybe one of these mornings I will have Rhayn leave her letter to Santa out and he could come get it and leave a little gift, but is that starting a tradition? I think its a good one! Rhayn already finished her letter to Santa, its covered in pictures clipped out of a toy catalogue.
I think that was the best birthday I had had in a long time! And it came without presents!

Happy Birthday you! I'm glad you enjoyed and got out for it! Slade says he didn't enjoy the movie that much either - too much details left out from the book. He gave it 8 stars out of 10 when friends of ours asked him about it. Sounds like I would have been put to sleep as I sometimes do watching movies in a theatre! Happy Thanksgiving!
I was planning on getting yousomething but i just couldnt findit in time , but there is always christmas!!
