Photo Friday- Desolate

My cousin, Tiff and her son are doing a photo Friday adventure. I asked if I could join in. Unfortunately this Friday I have a sick child and can't leave my house to take a picture of this week's word.
But I have a perfect photo (or two) hidden away in my December 2008 folder, pictures that I took on our way to Sea World. We had stopped to grab a geocache near the California border.

Verb: Make (a place) bleakly and depressingly empty or bare.
It may be desolate, but it's strangely beautiful, this abandoned homestead.
