Happy Blogiversary to ME!

Today marks five years of me whining to the internet.

I want to do something to celebrate, a giveaway that I mentioned earlier.

I will take the comments and put them into a hat and have my girls draw one out. Winner gets a $20 gift card to.... most likely Target. If you don't shop at Target (and that would be very strange to me... as I love that store!) then you can tell me your favorite store and I will try to get a gift card for there. One of my readers asked me to do a video, well sorry, that is just not happening. I hate my voice and I feel like an idiot when on camera. Maybe I will get my husband to make one? He is really hot and speaks well. Besides he has made many videos in his time- including this one. (Enjoy!)

For an entry you have to answer the following questions... if you don't blog, then tell me why you don't. Why did you start blogging? What keeps you going? Do you find yourself out of topics? What things are off limits to you (as a blogger) what stays off of your blog?

Q. Why did you start blogging?
A. I started blogging at the suggestion of my cousin.

Q. What keeps you going?
A. I can't stop writing, I love to do it. Sure, I could be putting my creative juices into the story/novel I am trying to write, but I have always journaled and now I have an (albeit small) audience. I love the comments.

Q. Do you find yourself out of topics?
A. Sometimes, but I have kids and pets. These things give me plenty to write about. Even if some of it is mundane.

Q. What topics are off limits to you as a blogger?
A. Politics. I will not tell you all who I voted for, I will not get into political discussions. At least I will try not to, sometimes, occasionally something pops out that I just have to throw my 2 cents into. Its rare though.

And now? In celebration of my Bloggiversary! I am taking the girls to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Ta ta!

Q. Why did you start blogging?
A. I started blogging because we were in Ely and to keep the family updated of goings on.

Q. What keeps you going?
A. Umm this is a hard one. I try to blog but most of the time just not sure what to say

Q. Do you find yourself out of topics?
A. Yes sometimes

Q. What topics are off limits to you as a blogger?
A. complaining about family, just don't think I need to put it out there for the world, since most of the time they are all very good and try hard. Plus once it is out there you can't take it back which scares me.

Q. Why did you start blogging?
Two reasons. The first being that I watched an Oprah show one day where a 20-yr old something daughter was interviewed about her Mother who passed away during 9/11. After her Mother's passing, the daughter found a whole bunch of journals and was so grateful for these...to learn about her Mum in her own words since she wasn't there in person. The story touched my heart so much that I knew that I had to start some sort of history of my life.
Second reason...my family lives in India and it is a terrific way to keep them in the loop!

Q. What keeps you going?
Knowing that my family reads my blog. :)

Q. Do you find yourself out of topics?
All the freakin' time. :)

Q. What topics are off limits to you as a blogger?
Politics and dogging on people - some might that's the same thing! Religion as well.

ps - pick me, pick me, pick me!

Q. Why did you start blogging?
A. I started because I love to journal and this made it easier to share pictures with my family members

Q. What keeps you going?
A. My fans! Just kidding. It just breaks my heart to think of forgetting any of this stuff, so having printable documentation gives me peace of mind! Plus it's fun!

Q. Do you find yourself out of topics?
A. Yup, and often. So I hope my blogs aren't too boring.

Q. What topics are off limits to you as a blogger?
A. Yeah, politics is an iffy one. Even religion sometimes, but I rarely hesitate to share.

Q. Why did you start blogging?
I have started a couple of blogs just as a place to sort out my thoughts. One I started long ago and I have it locked down because it has my name tied to it and I don't want employers or coworkers finding it. The second one is the one I currently update, but I'm extremely sporadic about posting it. I'm not even sure I post enough to consider myself a blogger.

Q. What keeps you going?
Either having something I'm going through that I need to work out through writing, or having something I don't want to forget about (good or bad).

Q. Do you find yourself out of topics?
All the time, hence the sporadic posting.

Q. What topics are off limits to you as a blogger?
I won't usually talk politics simply because I find it a very frustrating topic and debating about it does not accomplish anything. And although I do vent about things in my blog, which sometimes includes venting about people, I try not to go down the road of talking ugly about people. That just doesn't help anyone. That is one area of blogging that has prevented me from promoting it to family and friends...I like to have it as a place to sort out issues I'm having, but if they are with people I know might be reading, I'd feel like I had to hold back. I'd love to know how other people handle this.

Q. Why did you start blogging?
A. Because of you! I had been reading your blog for at least a year and a half and you inspired me to start one of my own even though I was scared at first!

Q. What keeps you going?
A. Hmm, not sure, I enjoy it a lot, and I kind of feel like a sense of obligation to myself to keep going, to keep doing something I commited to even though some times it is hard, and I have little time.

Q. Do you find yourself out of topics?
A. Often. I started as a "green" blog and I know that I have veered away from that a lot recently although I still try to stay grounded in sustainability because that is the way we try to live, and it is my passion.

Q. What topics are off limits to you as a blogger?
A. really personal stuff. Politics generally although I am sure it is pretty obvious where I stand. A lot of what I believe, and who I am is rooted in my political leanings too so it is hard sometimes. I also can't stand all the hate and anger political discourse has become and that is why I try to stay away from it for the most part. Sad really. I also don't discuss religion because I have a lot of work to do personally in this area before I know where I am at.

Love your blog Leaner, always have, don't ever stop! x
