French Butter Keeper

I have been obsessively looking at French butter keepers online. Etsy has many beautiful ones. I hate the plastic container I have been keeping butter in. Plus, look how pretty they are!
Since they aren't really cheap, especially for the nice ceramic ones I like, maybe if I ask really nicely I will get one for my birthday or Christmas. I really want a cobalt blue one, or a nice dark brown, maybe? What things have you been looking at online lately?

I have one of these, though not from Etsy, and I amsolutely LOVE it! However, it really doesn't work in the summer here, especially since we keep our house at 83. The butter gets just to runny. I so miss having it and another reason for the winter to come fast, so I have spreadable butter ready at all times!

I've had a white ceramic one for years that I love. I love the blue one in your picture way more though. :) BB&B sells (or at least used to sell) a ceramic one for under $10. It was just white and very plain, though, if I remember correctly.

Right now I need a tray for keeping my fridge butter in. The glass one I had broke when I sliced a pat of butter in it (!!!) and the boys had decided to leave my backup plastic one in the yard where the dogs got it and chewed it up. *sigh*

What have I been looking at online? Well, primarily jobs. And airline tickets to Canada. But I do have my eye on an MP3 player. I'm the only person in the house who doesn't have one. Yes, my children each have one and I don't. Sad, isn't it?

I will warn you that on the warmest days in my house, I've had the butter get slightly melty, just enough so that it falls out of the base (which is the top when it's stored, since it's stored upside down) and into the water below it. Thought I'd mention it since I'm pretty sure you keep your house *thermostat* set higher than mine (which may or may not mean that your kitchen is actually warmer than mine).
